WARRENSBURG, MO (Nov. 2, 2010) - Tickets are now available for the Department of Theatre's fall mainstage production of "The Birds" by Aristophanes Nov. 10-18 in UCM's Highlander Theatre.
Under the direction of Julie Rae Mollenkamp, professor of theatre and graduate coordinator for the Department of the Theatre, the production promises to be a unique experience for theatregoers. Following the guidelines of Sustainable Theatre, the environmental theatre performance will invite the audience to sit right on the Highlander Theatre stage set with repurposed items, with no delineation between acting and audience space. Actors will be clad in costumes of recycled materials, flying above the audience in the uproarious world of "The Birds."
Curtain times for the performances are 7:30 p.m., with the Nov. 14 performance planned as a 2 p.m. matinee.
The theatre box office, located in Wood 128, will open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays, beginning Nov. 1 for season ticket holders and Nov. 3 for the general public. Tickets can be reserved by calling the box office at 660-543-8811. Ticket prices are $12 for the general public; $10 for UCM faculty, staff and senior citizens; and $7 for students. Children under the age of 5 years old will not be admitted.
