Contact: Mike Greife
WARRENSBURG, MO (Feb. 23, 2009) – UCM will join the national 2009 V-Day College Campaign with the local presentation of “The Vagina Monologues” Feb. 25-28.

V-Day is a global movement to end violence against women and girls and raise funds and awareness through benefit productions of playwright and founder Eve Ensler’s award-winning play. The UCM production is sponsored by the UCM Office of Community Engagement and the Department of Theatre. All proceeds from the local production will benefit Survival: Adult Abuse Center in Warrensburg.

The three performances are planned for 7:30 p.m. in the Laura J. Nahm Auditorium in the W.C. Morris Science Building. Admission is $7, or $5 for UCM students with ID. Each production will have an original cast of volunteer performers. The production is recommended for mature audiences. Tickets are available in the Office of Community Engagement, Elliott Union 224, or they may be purchased at the door.

The UCM presentation of “The Vagina Monologues” is part of the university’s Unity Week:
