Veterans Day 2013 Honors Women Who Served Their Country

WARRENSBURG, MO (Aug. 21, 2013) – Women who have served in the military will be honored during a joint Veterans Day ceremony planned at the University of Central Missouri. The signup deadline for the program, “Honoring our Lady Veterans,” is Saturday, Oct. 12, with the actual program set for 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at the UCM Multipurpose Building. The program is open to all individuals who wish to join in the public observance.
Any female veterans who were involved in any branch of military service and would like to be recognized are invited to participate in this year’s event. It is being planned by UCM’s Office of Military and Veteran Services, UCM ROTC, UCM Student Veterans Organization, Missouri Veterans Commission, American Legion Post 131 and VFW Post 2513 in Warrensburg. Lunch will provided for honorees immediately following the program at the American Legion Post 131.
Women who wish to be honored for their service in the military are urged to register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. They are asked to enter Veterans Day 2013 in the subject line of their response, and provide their name, branch of service, and number of years served. Also, please note if special assistance is needed. Additional instructions will be emailed to each person who registers.
