Department of Music's Wind Ensemble Presents "Images"

WARRENSBURG, MO (Oct. 22, 2009) – The Department of Music Wind Ensemble will present “Images,” a program of contemporary music, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, in UCM ’s Hendricks Hall.
Scott Lubaroff, director of bands in the Department of Music, will conduct the ensemble in its presentations of “Traffic” by Ned Rorem; “Cheetah” by Karel Husa; and “Theme and Variations, Op. 43a” by Arnold Schoenberg.
Guest conductor Andrew Mast, assist professor of music and director of bands at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, will conduct “”O Cool is the Valley” by Vincent Perischetti. Also guest conducting will be Tremon Kizer, graduate teaching assistant to the UCM bands, who will conduct the ensemble’s performance of “Suite Francaise” by Darius Milhaud.
The performance is open to the public, and there is no admission fee.
