Contact: Mike Greife
WARRENSBURG, MO (Sept. 22, 2010) – The Gallery of Art and Design at the University of Central Missouri will host the exhibition “When Janey Comes Marching Home: Portraits of Women Combat Veterans” Sept. 30-Nov. 5 in the main and outer galleries.

The exhibition is a multi-media initiative consisting of a gallery show, book and documentary film that present a complex portrait of service women returning from war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan. A collaboration between author-filmmaker Laura Browder and photojournalist Sascha Pflaeging, “When Janey Comes Marching Home” presents a series of approximately 45 large-scale color photographic portraits and oral histories of women combat veterans.
