Workforce Central Provides Training for New CNAs

WARRENSBURG, MO (Oct. 12, 2009) – Twelve area residents graduated from Phase One of training as certified nursing assistants during a recent ceremony at the Warrensburg Community Center.
Classroom and Clinical Training
The students participated in a 175-hour course coordinated by the UCM Workforce Central initiative. Under the direction of instructor Carla Sapp, the students completed 75 hours of classroom instruction and 100 hours of supervised clinical experience.
Funding for the course was provided by the Workforce Development Board of Western Missouri, Inc.. Student recruitment and selection was provided by counselors from the Missouri Career Center in Warrensburg.
Filling a Need
Workforce Central is a program of the UCM School of Graduate and Extended Studies that provides non-credit training programs for displaced, dislocated or incumbent workers. All training programs are DESE approved. The School of Graduate and Extended Studies delivers the programs statewide in conjunction with the regional Workforce Development Board.
