Performing Arts Series Hosts "Carmen"

WARRENSBURG - 11/27/2006 - UCM's Performing Arts Series hosts the return of the State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara with performances of the ballet Carmen Wednesday, Nov. 29, in Hendricks Hall.
Tickets Still Available
Tickets remain available for a 50-minute matinee at 9 a.m. and a full performance at 7:30 p.m. Local young dancers, under the direction of Center Stage Academy for the Performing Arts, will open the second act of the evening performance. The cast of the State Street Ballet will join the local performers in meeting the public at a reception following the performance.

State Street Ballet is Santa Barbara's acclaimed professional ballet company, renowned for blending classical ballet with highly original themes. Come prepared to experience theatrical magic featuring the music of Georges Bizet in a passionate story of treachery and fate based on the fabled temptress of Seville.
Workshops Available to Young Dancers
State Street Ballet will also be conducting dance workshops Tuesday, Nov. 28 in Hendricks Hall. All beginning dancers are invited to attend the workshop from 5-6 p.m., and advanced dancers are welcome from 6-7 p.m.
