PAS Ready for Exciting New Season

WARRENSBURG - 09/14/2006 - Tickets for individual seating for any or all of UCM's Performing Arts Series performances now are on sale as the campus and community prepare for another season of outstanding entertainment.

The Golden Dragon Acrobats

The legendary Golden Dragon Acrobats will perform at 12:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 18. China's leading acrobatic troupe will be making their 28th tour of the United States this year, thrilling audiences with feats of physical daring and grace.

A UCM alumni and friends reception will precede the evening performance at 6 p.m. in the Wards Edwards atrium.

A Tale of Two Heroes

Young audiences will enjoy A Tale of Two Heroes: The Adventures of El Matador and Flynn the SwashbucklerNov. 2-4. Produced by the UCM Department of Theatre, the play for students in grades K-12 features music and entertainment for everyone.

The play will be performed for general admission audiences at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, and Friday, Nov. 3, with a 7:30 performances for reserved seating. A 10 a.m. performance also is planned for Saturday, Nov. 4.

Carmen

The State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara presents Carmen Wednesday, Nov. 29. Performed by the acclaimed professional ballet company, the story provides a performance filled with the magic and intensity of ballet.

A shortened, 50-minute version of the show will be presented at 9 a.m. A full-length performance debuts at 7:30 p.m., with the opening act performed by young dancers under the direction of Warrensburg's Center Stage Academy.

A reception with the State Street Ballet dancers and the local cast takes place following the evening performance.

The Harlem Gospel Choir

The Harlem Gospel Choir comes to UCM Friday, Feb. 9, as part of the university's annual Beyond Words week, sponsored by the UCM Office of Community Engagement. The choir will share its message of peace, love and harmony in a 7:30 performance.

A reception, hosted by the UCM Department of Art and the Greater Warrensburg Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, is planned prior to the concert in the UCM Art Center Gallery.

The Kingston Trio

The Kingston Trio, one of America's legendary and most popular singing groups, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 16. Join the trio at the after party at Heroes restaurant and more the oldies hits provided by a DJ provided by KOKO radio.
