Honors College Advisory Committee Official Charge
Honors College Advisory Committee
I. FUNCTION
A. To advise and assist the Dean of The Honors College in building an Honors College Program that fosters excellence and attracts and challenges top academic students
B. To evaluate periodically the The Honors College Program
II. POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
Reports to the Dean of The Honors College.
III. MEMBERSHIP
A. Composition (8 members)
- One faculty member from each of the other four colleges and one faculty member from Library/Academic Enrichment
- Dean of The Honors College (non-voting)
- Coordinator of Undergraduate Research
- Two student members
B. Selection
- Faculty members from each college nominated by FS Committee on Committees and confirmed by Faculty Senate
- Dean of The Honors College (non-voting)
- Coordinator of Undergraduate Research
- Upper-division student member enrolled in The Honors College selected by Student Government Association
- President of Honors College Students' Association
C. Committee Chair - The Dean of The Honors College shall serve as chair
D. Term of Service
- Faculty members: three years
- Student members: one year
IV. COMMENTS
The committee chair is responsible for creating and maintaining a Procedures Manual, a copy to be kept in the Faculty Senate Office.
This committee meets twice per semester (four times per academic year).
