Awards Selection Committee
I. FUNCTION
To select students for certain campus awards (e.g., Charno Award, Who's Who at Central)
II. POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
Reports to the Vice Provost for Student Experience and Engagement
III. MEMBERSHIP
A. Composition (8 members)
1. One faculty member from each college and L/AE
2. Two student members from SGA
3. Vice Provost for Student Experience and Engagement (ex-officio, non-voting)
B. Selection
1. Faculty members from each college nominated by FS Committee on Committees and confirmed by Faculty Senate
2. Student members selected by SGA
3. Vice Provost for Student Experience and Engagement (ex-officio, non-voting)
C. Selection of Chair
Vice Provost for Student Experience and Engagement shall chair this committee
D. Term of Service
1. Faculty members: two years
2. Student members: one year
IV. COMMENTS
The committee chair is responsible for creating and maintaining a Procedures Manual, a copy to be kept in the Faculty Senate Office.
The committee meets 3 or 4 times in the spring. Late afternoons, with one meeting until 9 p.m.
