Criteria for the Governor's Excellence in Education Award:
- Evidence of effective teaching
- Evidence of innovation in course design and delivery
- Evidence of effective advising
- Evidence of service to the college/university community
- Evidence of commitment to high standards of excellence
- Evidence of success in nurturing student achievement

- Teaching
- Scholarly and/or creative activity
- Professionally related service
