Deadline for Submitting Grades
For step by step instructions and screen shots for posting grades, watch this powerpoint How to Post Grades presentation.
Faculty members are strongly encouraged to report mid-semester deficiency grades (D/F). Mid-semester grades are due by noon on Tuesday during the 7th week of classes during Fall and Spring semesters. Mid-semester grades are not reported for summer semester.
Mid-semester D and F grades can be entered through MyCentral using the "Faculty" tab and selecting the "Mid Term Grades" link.
Pursuant to federal guidelines, a "Last Attend Date" must be entered for any student who is being assigned a grade of "F". If the student never attended the course and was not reported or dropped for Enrollment Verification, use the first day of the course as the last attend date. If the student has continued to attend the course and is earning an "F" grade, use the mid-term grade due date as the last attend date.
For those using INB Banner instead of MyCentral to enter grades, the mid-term grades can be reported on "SFASLST", but last attend dates for F grades must be entered on "SFAALST".
Final grades are always due at noon on the Tuesday following finals week.
For classes that end before the 16th week of the semester, instructors may enter grades at any time; however, grades are processed once a semester (the Wednesday after finals week). So, if grades are posted early, students will not have access to their grades until the Thursday following final exams.
Pursuant to federal guidelines, a "Last Attend Date" for any student who is being assigned a grade of "F" is required. If the student never attended the course and was not reported for Enrollment Validation, use the first day of the course as the last attend date. If the student has continued to attend the course and earned an "F" grade, use the last day of courses for the semester as the last attend date.
If you have any students auditing your courses, please report a grade of "NC" for these students.
A report of missing grades is available in ARGOS in the Academic Department Reports folder, Grade Information subfolder.
Watch for reminders via Google email regarding deadlines for both mid-semester and final grades.
Instructors may make changes to grades assigned on the original grade sheet in MyCentral through Tuesday at noon during the week after final exams. Any grade changes needed after this time must be submitted via the "Change Student Grade" form in MyCentral.
Half-semester Classes and Summer Terms
While grades are not due until noon on the Tuesday following finals week at the end of each semester, grades for first-half semester classes and early summer terms may be entered as soon as the class is finished. In fact, this is encouraged!
However, grades are only processed once per term and will not show on a student’s official record until the end of the term.
