Assistant Professor of Military Science (Senior Military Instructor)

Stephen White began his military career by graduating from One Station Unit Training as a 19E, M60 Armor crewman, in October 1981 from Fort Knox, Kentucky.  He entered the simultaneous membership program and received his regular army commission from the Reserve Officers Training Corps at Arkansas Tech in May, 1985.

Mr. White’s assignments included tank company commander with 1-70 Armor Battalion at Fort Polk, Louisiana, tank company commander with 1-66 Armor Battalion at Fort Hood, Texas, S-3 for 1-72 Armor Battalion at Camp Casey, Korea, Battalion Executive Officer with the New Orleans Recruiting Battalion, advisor to the Saudi Arabian National Guard, Assistant Professor of Military Science for the University of Central Arkansas ROTC program, transition team chief for the 1st Iraqi Mechanized Brigade, Federal Police in Baghdad, Iraq, and military history instructor at the U.S. Command and General Staff College.

His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal,  airborne badge and air assault badge.  He has a master’s degree in history from Arkansas Tech.  Following his retirement from the army as a lieutenant colonel, Mr. White became a contracted instructor for Able Forces.

He and his wife Tracie have two children, Joshua (27), and Matthew (24).
