Dr. Jim Britton, in his 39 years of service to the Department of Sociology & Social Work, was a significant driving force in the development and success of the department. Few people have personified the dedication to hard work and the desire to help students learn more than Dr. Britton. Whether he was serving as department chair (which he did for 11 years) or whether he was teaching full-time, Dr. Britton was a positive influence on all who came in contact with him--both in and out of the classroom. It is with great honor that we offier the C. James Britton Scholarship to one outstanding student in sociology, social gerontology or social work each year. The application deadline each year is November 1st at 5:00 p.m. C. James Britton Scholarship (for undergraduate students) |
