Shapiro, Charles
| Charles R. Shapiro, Ph.D., A.C.S.W., L.C.S.W., Associate Professor of Social Work. Dr. Shapiro serves as Coordinator of Field Education for the Social Work Program. He formerly served as Director of the Social Work Program. Dr. Shapiro received a B.A. in philosophy and MSW. from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and a Ph.D. in social work from the University of Denver (1976). Dr. Shapiro's work experiences include medical social work, clinical social work in a military setting, clinical social work in a family service agency, and clinical social work (group work) in private practice in the area of domestic violence. His research interests lie in the areas of domestic violence, mental health, gerontology, student assessment, social work program development, and accreditation of social work programs.
