Experience & Expertise
Mr. Hurst has been involved in the professional disciplines of Photography, Graphic Arts, Printing/ Publishing, and Imaging Technology for four decades. He has worked at the executive level in a variety of notable organizations; researching, recommending, and directing the implementation of imaging technology across the entire production process, from content creation to distribution. In addition, he provided his photographic, artistic, and creative skills for corporate communications, product development, and personal fine arts.
Mr. Hurst is expert in the creation, processing, and technical production of visual imagery across multiple display and distribution systems. He is interested in exploring the relationships of energy, matter, space and time as the essential components of existence in both technical and aesthetic domains. Approaching fine art philosophically, his personal artistic work is devoted to visual image creation employing diverse photographic processes. His images are exhibited in juried shows and select art galleries. Artwork is held in corporate and private collections.

Professional Affiliations
Mr. Hurst left industry for academia and joined the UCM faculty in 2001. He is a member of Society for Photographic Education (SPE) and The Center for Fine Art Photography.
