Guide to UCM Style
Consulting the Guide to UCM Writing Style and the Graphic Style Guide will help you produce more effective and consistent pieces about the University of Central Missouri. Developed by the Office of University Relations, this guide should be used as a reference for all written and electronic communications including advertising, booklets, brochures, fliers, invitations, newsletters, websites, PowerPoint presentations and others.
Rather than using various stylebooks for media, periodicals, publications and the Web, University Relations has adopted the AP Stylebook as the primary reference for all communications, along with Webster's New World Collegiate Dictionary. In some instances, university style decisions supersede or clarify these references.
If you still are unsure or unable to find an answer, call University Relations at 660-543-4640 and ask to speak with a writer. If you have a style point that you believe should be addressed in this guide, please contact us. We appreciate your interest and welcome your comments.
