Your academic adviser will be your biggest help at UCM when it comes to selecting courses, enrolling and keeping you on track to graduate. Your academic college or department will assign your adviser to you. We encourage all students to meet with their adviser once a semester to make sure they are enrolling in the right classes and are on track to graduate on time.
Transfer Student Advising
Transfer student advising is conducted in the academic college or department advising center. All students are encouraged to meet with their adviser once a semester to make sure they are enrolling in the right classes and are on track to graduate on time. Find your academic adviser.
Open Option Student Advising and Career Exploration
The Gateway Advising and Major Exploration Center provides student-focused academic advising for Open Option majors, UCM students who are in the process of exploring their major and minor options. The emphasis is on assisting still deciding students in carefully selecting classes that progress you toward graduation even though you are still exploring academic direction.
In addition to gateway academic advising for Open Option majors, the Gateway Advising and Major Exploration Center offers several major and career exploration services. One-on-one counseling appointments are available. Learn more about the Gateway Advising and Major Exploration Center.
