Chasing a Championship 2009: UCM Mules Basketball
Under the guidance of Head Coach Kim Anderson, the 2008-2009 University of Central Missouri Mules basketball team turned in a stellar season. The Mules reached the 30-win plateau with a record of 30-5. In the storied, century-long tradition of UCM basketball, only two teams have won more than 30 games in one season. Coach Anderson led the way for both. The 2008-09 Mules won the MIAA Post-Season Championship and NCAA-II South Central Regional Championship. The team earned a place in the NCAA-II Elite 8 in Springfield, Massachusetts.
This video contains D-II Elite 8 video highlights from the Mules stunning come-from-behind victory over Gannon University's Golden Knights and a photo montage from the national semifinal game versus the eventual 2009 undefeated national champion Findlay University Oilers. The Mules were welcomed home to Warrensburg with a pep rally in the Multipurpose Building - a facility where they fashioned an undefeated home record of 17 wins and no losses.
