2011 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient — Mark Schupp
Mark Schupp, left, receives the 2011 UCM Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award from President Charles Ambrose.
Mark Schupp has led a world-class career in advertising and marketing. He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from UCM in 1978, then worked for several large advertising firms and private companies, including Anheuser-Busch, Miller Brewing Company, Coco Cola and American Express.
Among his most publicized campaigns for Anheuser-Busch were Spuds Mackinzie, I Love You Man and Bud Bowl.
He started his own advertising agency, Schupp Co. in St. Louis in 1993. The firm works with many high profile companies and has won practically every national creative award available. The company also has been recognized as one of the best places to work, providing a great employee environment and contributing more than $2.5 million of its services to nonprofit organizations. In 2009, Schupp also was named the St. Louis Ad Club’s first ever Ad Man of the Year.
Schupp credits his UCM education for having a “profound impact on my life and how I’ve lived it. There wasn’t one class, one professor, one friend, one event or one experience that was ultimately responsible for making me who I am today. It was a combination of everything that UCM offered that allowed me to hit the ground running.”
