Atkinson, Carol Communication Nominated by several members of the UCM National Society of Leadership and Success (Sigma Alpha Pi) as a faculty member who teaches with “heart and passion and motivated them in their pursuit of education;" Reviewed the 2007/08 edition of Voices of the Past by Folkerts and Teeter for Allyn and Bacon.

Lowrance, Melanie Art and Design Solo exhibition of her large scale drawings and paintings at the P.E.O. Foundation Gallery at Cottey College in Nevada, MO, Had work displayed in the exhibits “Painted People,” “Paper in Particular,” and “Self Evident: Contemporary Self Portraits,” and received the Mary R. Koch Memorial Award for her pastel drawing, “Outie”, exhibited in the Pastel National Exhibition at the Wichita Center for the Arts.
Lubaroff, Scott Music Directed the UCM Symphonic Wind Ensemble: Featured ensemble for the 70th Missouri Music Educators Association In-Service Conference at Tan-Tar-A; Premiered "Spirit" by Master Sgt. Aldo Rafael Forte, the story of George Whiteman.
Luehrman, Mick Art and Design Solo exhibition in the PEO Foundation Gallery at Cottey College in Nevada, MO, had work "Implements" (honorable mention) accepted into Paper In Particular on exhibit at Columbia College, MO; had a work accepted to the 42nd Annual National Drawing & Small Sculpture Show, Del Mar College, Corpus Christi, TX, and exhibited work and received an honorable mention award in the Missouri Art Professors’ show sponsored and exhibited by the Columbia Art League in Columbia, MO.
Lundervold, Duane Psychology Maintained licensure as a Professional Counselor in Wisconsin and Missouri (LPC).
Lynch, John and Clint Orr Art and Design Gave a presentation to the state association, Missouri Campus Compact, at a conference entitled, Developing Citizen-Scholars Across Missouri. Their presentation, THE CREATIVE ENGINE - An Exercise In Service Learning That Balances Serving Community Needs And Practical Student Learning Outcomes, took place in Lake Ozark, Missouri. The content was a case study of their yearly event, The Creative Engine, which provides pro bono graphic design work for community non-profit organizations over a twenty-four hour marathon period.

Ryan Joseph J Psychology Only board certified clinical neuropsychologist (American Board of Professional Psychology) in the greater Kansas City area; Elected a fellow by the Association for Psychological Science; Maintained licensure for the independent practice of professional psychology in Missouri and Kansas; listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology; Holds the Certificate of Professional Qualification in Psychology from the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards.
Ryan Joseph J Psychology Presented an invited paper at the Distinguished Lecture Series, Department of Psychology, Roosevelt University, Chicago, IL; Received the Outstanding Graduate Psychology Professor Award for 2007-2008; Received a CAHSS Scholarly/Creative Activity Award for 2008-2009; Elected to membership in Phi Kappa Phi.
Staab, James Political Science Introduced and moderated Justice Antonin Scalia’s Oppenheimer Series Lecture; KTGB interview about my book and Justice Scalia’s visit; Panelist on roundtable titled Justice Scalia and Conservatism on the Supreme Court at the Western Political Science Association Meeting; Presented paper titled The War on Terror’s Impact on Habeas Corpus: The Constitutionality of the Military Commissions Act of 2006 at the Terrorism and Justice Conference (UCM); authored two op-ed pieces Much at Stake in Coming Election for Democrats and On the U.S. Supreme Court, A Fault Line Between the Conservatives for the Kansas City Star.
