Involvement Opportunities


The Economics Club provides opportunities to network in the field with fellow students, faculty members and professionals. Membership is open to all Economics majors and minors, and events take place throughout the school year.

Omicron Delta Epsilon is the International Honor Society for economic students. Membership is open to students who have completed at least 12 semester hours of economics courses and have attained at least a B average in those courses.

Student Finance Association interacts with professionals in the field, attends conferences, takes field trips to companies specializing in finances, views Web casts on advanced finance topics, and participates in an investment simulation game and in the annual departmental golf outing. SFA sponsors a student chapter of the Financial Management Association.

American Marketing Association allows students to keep abreast of the latest developments in the field, initiate contacts with leading professionals, and develop leadership skills. Students have the opportunity to become involved in a number of professional business organizations.

American Advertising Federation is an organization of students striving for professionalism and excellence in the field of advertising. The Advertising Club’s purpose is to educate its members and provide opportunities for those students eager to enter the world advertising.  Each year, the organization participates in business events, competitions, social activities and community service.

National Collegiate Sales Competition provides an excellent venue for students, marketing professors, and sales executives to come together and share knowledge with each other from their experience in the sales world. Each spring, sales teams from various universities across the nation gather in Atlanta, Georgia, to compete in the annual National Collegiate Sales Competition.

State Farm and UCM Marketing and Sales Competition is an annual competition sponsored by State Farm. It has been recognized by internal and external publications, including an article written in the National Underwriter. The event offers students the opportunity to showcase their sales skills and innovative ideas for attracting and retaining youthful auto consumers.

Enactus is a global nonprofit organization active in more than 40 countries. Working in partnership with business and higher education, Enactus establishes student teams on university campuses. Projects in the areas of market economics, success skills, entrepreneurship, financial literacy and business ethics are emphasized. A national competition is held to determine which team was most successful on a project created during that academic year.
