A research problem is a scholarly study developed under the guidance of a member of the Graduate Faculty in the department. The specific focus of the research project should reflect the student's interests and area(s) of expertise, and should be developed in conjunction with a Graduate Faculty member. A research problem must be approved by the Director of Graduate Studies. Students who have the support of the relevant Graduate Faculty member and wish to write a research problem should, upon approval of the Director of Graduate Studies, register for ENG 5920.
