Department of Communication Disorders and Social Work

Students may apply for multiple scholarships. Most applications for the 2015-2016 academic year must be completed and submitted by March 1, 2015.  Be sure to check below for scholarships that have an application deadline other than March 1.

Name of Scholarship To apply, a student must:
Lawrence E. and Eva L. Flanders Scholarship in Speech Pathology
  • be a full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in the field of speech pathology and audiology
  • have shown promise of academic and clinical ability in the field of speech pathology and audiology
Eileen Graham Mathews Memorial Scholarship in Speech Pathology and Audiology
  • be a graduate student pursuing a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology at UCM
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character
  • show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of speech pathology and audiology
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0
Marilynn Schmidt Communication Disorders Scholarship
  • be a full-time junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be admitted to the communication disorders degree program
  • be pursuing a degree in communication disorders
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character
  • show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of communication disorders
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0
Lin Welch Graduate Scholarship in Communication Disorders
  • be a graduate student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in speech pathology and/or audiology
  • have completed a minimum of six graduate hours in speech pathology and audiology
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character
  • show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of speech pathology and audiology
  • be committed to completing graduate degree in speech pathology and audiology at UCM
Department of Social Work To apply, a student must:
C. James Britton Scholarship
  • be a full-time student at UCM the following academic year
  • be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree within the Department of Sociology or Social Work
  • have earned a minimum of 90 semester credit hours if undergraduate or 9 credit hours if graduate student
  • have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.75
  • demonstrate good character, leadership and service
Social Work Senior Scholarship
  • be a senior pursuing a degree in Social Work and in the semester of completing their practicum
  • demonstrate financial need
  • display exemplary professional demeanor
