UCM on the Appalachian Trail Application

In 2020, for the fifth year in a row, UCM invites participants to volunteer for a week of trail maintenance in partnership with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.

This is a great opportunity to join a project that will impact generations of hikers while engaging in a hands-on learning experience. This life-changing week will challenge you physically, mentally, and emotionally as you adapt to the rigors of joining a trail maintaining crew!

Students interested in joining a service-learning trip must submit a completed application. Once received, applications will be reviewed by student leaders and staff members as part of the selection process. Our goal is to build a diverse, well-rounded team of students. Select students will be invited to interview prior to entering the final stage of trip placement.

Trip Information

  • Who? Any UCM student is eligible to apply.
  • What? A week-long service-learning experience with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.
