What if the orientation date I need to attend is already full?
If you are ONLY able to attend on a specific date, and it has reached capacity please register for an open date, and in the last comments box, please indicate which orientation you need to attend, along with the reason. You will receive an email confirming your new date, if approved. Please ask for this exception in extenuating circumstances only.
How long does orientation last?
Orientation will begin at 8:30 a.m. and last until 2:30 or 3 p.m., depending on your scheduling needs. You will receive a confirmation in the mail prior to orientation that will highlight the information you will need. In the meantime feel free to review orientation details.
What if I can't attend orientation because I live too far away or I will be gone all summer (military, work, etc.)?
If you are not able to attend orientation in person, please still register for an open date, and in the last comments box, please indicate "I need to do my orientation by mail," along with the reason. You may receive an email that states that your orientation is scheduled for 1/1/2013. Please disregard this email. We have to manually override your original orientation date to note that you are not attending. This allows the system to retain your information. Please ask for this exception in extenuating circumstances only. We will mail your enrollment information and orientation materials to the home address we have on file.
If I have college credit I will be transferring in from high school, how will my academic advisor know?
As long as you posted the courses that you will be transferring to UCM on your orientation registration, your advisor will not enroll you in those courses. This will avoid you taking the course again, unnecessarily. Please provide final college transcripts once your courses are complete to:
UCM- Office of Admissions
Ward Edwards 1400
Warrensburg, MO 64093
You can also verify how these courses will transfer to UCM.
How will I know what classes I am enrolled in for my first semester?
Your classes will be selected by your academic advisor based on the information you submitted on your orientation registration. You will have the opportunity to review your schedule and make any necessary changes during your orientation.
