Early Childhood , Birth-Grade 3 Option, Clinical Pathways, Bachelor of Science in Education Degree

Early Childhood Education majors will be certified to teach in any classroom from pre-kidergarten through third grade.

  • Teacher candidates have experience in rural, suburban, and urban classrooms and at each grade they are certified to teach.

  • Numerous scholarhips are available at the department, college, and university level.

What will I study?
Early childhood education majors complete courses in child development, early childhood principles, teaching methods, professional education, and field experiences.

  • Integration of Arts and Movement in Early Childhood Classrooms

How can I get involved outside the classroom?
At UCM, we value an engaging learning experience that includes student involvement and service projects. Students can be involved in Kappa Delta Pi honor fraternity, Leading Educator Advocates for Diversity, Missouri National Educators Association, and Student Missouri State Teachers Association. Our students also somplete service projects with area partner school districts.

About our Faculty:
A small student to faculty ratio allows professors to get to know students and provide personalized attention.

All faculty in the Early Childhood Education Program have early childhood teaching experience. Faculty engage regularly in a variety of professional development/scholarly activity and work closely with our public school partners.
