  On-Scene Crash Investigation 6-Hour Course. Sponsored by the Missouri Safety Center.

Missouri Safety Center Dress Code:
The Center is a formal training environment for civilians and professionals alike. All students are asked to follow our dress code which consists of attire that is typically found in a professional office environment; T-shirts, tank tops, shorts or sandals are not appropriate in class.

This basic 6 hour course is designed for a road officer or other officials who responds to the scene of a traffic crash, yet has no formal training in crash investigation techniques. Participants will learn how to determine what physical evidence should be identified and documented on a STARS report, as well as the best methods for preserving the evidence of a vehicle crash scene should further investigation be required. This course can also be used to ensure that officers have the necessary knowledge and skills to properly collect and document crash data for a STARS report. It can also be used for anyone needing a basic refresher in on-scene crash investigation, 6 hours of POST credit is awarded to all full-time Missouri law enforcement officers.

NON-LAW ENFORCEMENT OR OUT OF STATE LAW ENFORCEMENT COST: Tuition is $75 per person. Participants may pay via credit card (MasterCard, VISA or Discover only - by calling 800-801-3588), check made payable to the Missouri Safety Center (Humphrey Building Suite 200, Warrensburg, MO 64093 or purchase order number note in registration comments. To be accepted payment must be received prior to the first day of the course.

Requirements: Because all training materials and course-work will be provided and performed electronically, students must bring a laptop with the free Adobe Reader program installed. This will allow the students to become completely familiar with the material both during and after the class, also in some cases, it will help students prepare for the next in a series of classes.
