UCM, Waubonsee Community College Agreement Supports Seamless Transfer from 2-Year to 4-Year Degree in Design and Drafting Technology

Transfer students pursuing careers in design and drafting have a new opportunity to seamlessly advance their higher education from a two-year to a four-year program thanks to a new articulation agreement between Waubonsee Community College (WCC) in Sugar Grove, Illinois, and the University of Central Missouri, with educational opportunities in Warrensburg and online.

UCM Division of Theatre and Dance Presents Senior Showcase 2024

The University of Central Missouri (UCM) Division of Theatre and Dance presents Senior Showcase 2024 on 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 5, at the James L. Highlander Theatre and at 7 p.m. Monday, April 22, on the Jerome Stage at the Unicorn Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri. Admission to both events is free. Doors open a half hour before each show for audiences to view performer headshots and resumes.

Among Many Actions, UCM Governing Board Sets Tuition, Room and Board, Other Fees for FY 2025

In its March plenary session, the University of Central Missouri Board of Governors approved increases in student instructional tuition and general fees for academic year 2025 that were below the national rate of inflation. These were among many actions taken during the meeting, including honoring three members of the UCM community.

UCM was ranked third among large U.S. public universities with over 9,000 students, demonstrating its efforts to provide active duty military members, veterans and military dependents meaningful and sustainable paths toward a higher education. UCM’s dedication to military spouses was recognized in a separate category.

Best Names Crowley Interim Provost After Bridgmon Assumes Post in South Carolina

During the Spring General Faculty Meeting meeting today, University of Central Missouri President Roger Best named university academic leader Tim Crowley, DMA, interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Crowley currently serves as Vice Provost for Academic Programs and Dean of Graduate Studies and Research and begins this interim service on July 1. He will continue to maintain his role as the university’s liaison with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

Traffic Safety Officer Rogers Contributes to Motorist Education at UCM

Realizing that efforts to maintain a safe campus extends beyond interior buildings and grounds, the University of Central Missouri has added a new officer whose role also includes educating motorists on how they can contribute to making UCM and their community safe. Former Oak Grove resident Emma Rogers has been named the Department of Public Safety’s Traffic Safety Officer, a position funded by a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

NCMC+UCM Direct Connect Transfer Agreement Provides Seamless Pathway from Two-Year to Four-Year Degree, Initially for Seven Programs

An agreement that makes it possible for students at North Central Missouri College (NCMC) to pursue an associate degree while concurrently taking courses leading to a bachelor’s degree at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) was signed Feb. 26 at NCMC in Trenton. The NCMC+UCM Direct Connect Transfer Agreement builds upon a relationship between both institutions that not only helps facilitate credit transfer between institutions, but also includes benefits for students such as lowering the cost of a four-year degree, providing student use of services at each institution, and student record sharing between NCMC and UCM.

Missouri Innovation Campus Program's Academic Rigor and Industry Internships Give 2023 Graduate Michael Kraxberger Competitive Edge

Graduating high school with an associate degree while gaining technical experience are among the reasons University of Central Missouri 2023 graduate Michael Kraxberger selected UCM’s nationally recognized Missouri Innovation Campus program. Kraxberger recently moved to Raleigh, N.C. to work in the Cisco Sales Associate Program (CSAP). At age 20, he is the youngest in this elite program and among just 11 candidates accepted from a pool of applicants in the tens of thousands. He works as an associate systems engineer with this job title changing to associate solutions engineer in the near future.

UCM Announces Inaugural Performance of the Faculty-Student Chamber Ensemble, Feb. 27

A new kind of ensemble will debut at Hart Recital Hall on the University of Central Missouri campus at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27. Free and open to the public, this music performance brings together the talents of UCM Music faculty and students to perform a widely hailed 20th-century masterpiece, Steve Reich’s “Music for 18 Musicians.” The concert will be free and open to the public.
