Mules, Jennies Headed for MIAA Tournament Play

Contact: Rob McCutcheon
The UCM basketball teams are both set for the MIAA Tournament as the sixth seeded Jennies will play at approximately 8:15 p.m. Thursday, March 6, against third-seeded Southwest Baptist, and the No. 3 Mules will face No. 6 Washburn at approximately 8:15 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Kansas City’s historic Municipal Auditorium.

Three ticket packages are available at the UCM ticket office until 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 5.

  • The all-session ticket, good for all seven sessions and 14 games, is again available for $40 per person.
  • Institutional passes are $30, and the ticket holder is guaranteed admission to every game for Central Missouri - men's and women's - for a maximum of five sessions (10 games). If UCM is completely eliminated from the tournament, the ticket is no longer valid.
  • Single-session tickets will be the only tickets sold at the Municipal Auditorium box offices during the tournament - $15 for adults and $5 for students with valid ID and children aged 3-17. These are available at the UCM ticket office as well.

UCM and the MIAA will host several events in conjunction with the tournament. All UCM Alumni, friends, fans, and Mule Train donors are invited to the traditional tournament reception in the Barney-Allis Lobby in the Muehlebach Tower in the Downtown Kansas City Marriott from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Friday.

UCM also welcomes Mules and Jennies fans to McFadden’s Sports Saloon at 1330 Grand Blvd. in the new downtown Kansas City Power and Light District for pre and post-game gatherings throughout the MIAA Tournament.

New to this year’s slate will be the MIAA Rally from 2 to 6 p.m.Friday at K.C Live, located in the Power & Light District adjacent to the Sprint Center and just a few blocks east of Municipal Auditorium. Taste the great food offered by the many new restaurants in the district and catch up with the happenings of your school’s alumni association. Kansas City’s Sports Radio 810 WHB will also be broadcasting live all afternoon, and there will be plenty of prizes and contests to be won!
