Workshop Offers Insights About the World of Children's Literature

WARRENSBURG, MO (June12, 2009) – Registrations are being accepted for the fifth annual Children’s Books Workshop, a summer retreat for authors, artists, teachers and others interested in children’s literature. The two-day workshop is planned for Thursday and Friday, July 23-24, in the James C. Kirkpatrick Library at the University of Central Missouri.
Meet Professionals Who Create Children's Literature
The workshop, “From Dream to Page: Children’s Books and the People Who Make Them,” allows participants to meet and mingle with professionals from the world of children’s literature, gathering ideas about current trends and issues and learning more about how good children’s books are created and shared.
Speakers for the workshop include children’s author and illustrator Laura Huliska-Beith and authors Carolyn Mulford, Jane Kurtz, and Richard Jennings.
College Credit Available
Cost for the workshop is $175, which includes three meals, refreshments, door prizes, a discount on book purchases and a certificate of completion. For participants wishing to receive college credit, the cost is $439 for two hours of undergraduate credit or $540 for two hours of graduate credit. This price includes the registration fee.
