WARRENSBURG, MO (April 23, 2014)-The University of Central Missouri’s Department of Theatre and Dance will present its spring dance concert, Still/Moving, at 7:30 p.m. April 24-26 in the Highlander Theatre.
Still/Moving brings arts to life and is a collaboration between the departments of Theatre and Dance, Music, and Art and Design. Each dance piece in the concert reflects upon a piece of art created by students and faculty of the UCM Department of Art and Design and is choreographed to music composed and performed by the students and faculty in the Department of Music.
The ensemble of 17 dancers includes Justin Barron, Megan Brooks, Ashley Coffer, Lindy Elliott, Arista Fleming, Taylor Jennings, Sydnee Kimmel, Nellie Maple, Brooke Myers, Emily Norbush, Daniel Parman, Natasha Parsons, Katie Poggemeier, Kelsey Reinsfelder, Kamry Volkmer, Nora Wombwell, and Dashawn Young. The concert showcases the work of seven choreographers, including Artistic Director Ashley Miller; Merideth Harmon Sauer Guest Artist Thomas Bergstig; and students Justin Barron, Lindy Elliott, Daniel Parman, Natasha Parsons, Kelsey Reinsfelder, and Nora Wombwell.
Admission is $12 for the general public, $10 for faculty, staff and senior citizens, and $7 for students. Tickets are available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the theatre box office in Wood 128. Tickets may also be reserved by calling the box office at 660-543-8811 and will be available at the door. Children under the age of five will not be admitted.
