Career Expo Draws Record Numbers

WARRENSBURG - 10/03/2006 - UCM's Office of Career Services will host a record number of employers at the 25th annual Fall Career Expo from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4 in the UCM Multipurpose Building.
Students Can Meet with Professionals
The Career Expo allows students to meet professionals in their field of interest or major, ask questions, distribute resumes and explore career opportunities. More than 140 employers, graduate and professional schools are expected to attend this year's Fall Career Expo, the largest number to participate in the history of the event.
Many Return to Interview
Nearly 30 of those employers currently have made arrangements with the Office of Career Services to return to campus after the event to conduct interviews. To participate in the interviewing process, students must register with the Office of Career Services.
Large Corporations, Government Agencies Included
"We have several large corporations attending the event, as well as smaller and mid-size companies seeking our graduates for positions in a variety of career fields," said Sharon Jennings, career development coordinator with the Office of Career Services.
Among the employers attending the expo are Black and Veatch, J.E. Dunn, Kraft Foods, GE, Caterpillar, ConocoPhillips, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Hallmark, Southwest Airlines, Target Stores, Edward Jones, Garmin and Walton Construction. In addition to the numerous graduate and professional schools, many city, county, state and federal agencies also will be represented.
All students are encourages to attend, regardless of class in school. Professional attire is recommended.
