UCM Joins Community for Annual "Get the Red Out" Celebration
This cooperative community event, which offers family fun and opportunities for local businesses and non-profit organizations, will take place on Holden Street, between South and Clark streets, under sponsorship of the university, KMOS-TV, and the Greater Warrensburg Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center.
Everyone is invited to join in the activities and show their support for the UCM Mules as they meet the Missouri Western State University Griffons in the first UCM home game of the season at 7 p.m. in Audrey J. Walton Stadium. “National Guard Appreciation Day” also will be celebrated during the game.
“Get the Red Out is a great opportunity to bring members of the local and university communities together to celebrate the beginning of a new academic year as the Mules host their first home football game of the season. Last year’s turnout set a record for the event, and we hope to exceed that number for 2013,” said Robin Krause, director of marketing and promotions.
Get the Red Out will include inflatables and games for the kids, Clifford the Big Red Dog, hoop shooting with the Mules and Jennies basketball teams and more. Businesses, profit/non- profit organizations, student organizations and others who would like to share information about their businesses, products or project also are invited to participate.
Booth registration must be completed online and submitted no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30. Only online registrations will be accepted, and there is no charge to enter a booth. For more information, call 660-543-4640 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
