WARRENSBURG, MO (Sept. 6, 2013) – Hank and Marilyn Hamann, Warrensburg, representing the Todd Hamann Memorial Foundation, recently presented a donation of $1,500 to the ECHO program at the University of Central Missouri. Receiving the donation was two-year-old Jewel Johnson, a student at UCM’s Central Village Child Care Center.
The donation is the proceeds from the Todd Hamann Memorial Golf Tournament, held annually in memory of the Hamanns' son.
The Early Childhood Hunger Operation, founded by UCM students in 2010, provides backpacks filled with food to preschool children to take home during the weekend. ECHO targets those younger children that rely on a subsidized breakfast, lunch and snack, which is not available to them during the weekend. Since its inception, ECHO has grown to serve more than 100 families and is sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Warrensburg.
“We wanted to give back to the Warrensburg community through the Todd Hamann Memorial Foundation,” Hank Hamann said. “We’re thankful to the community for the continued support of the golf tournament, enabling us to continue to support programs in the community like ECHO.”
