WARRENSBURG, MO (Oct. 25, 2011) – To help support a safe and civil community, local law enforcement agencies will conduct party patrols during Halloween weekend as part of the Community Culture of Responsible Choices effort.
The party patrol team will consist of six to 10 dedicated officers who will patrol the local community to enforce alcohol laws. Community members who witness disturbances at local parties are encouraged to contact the Warrensburg Police Department through Johnson County Central Dispatch at 660-747-2265 to enlist support during the weekend.
Party planners also are encouraged to utilize the online house party guide available at ucmo.edu/housepartyguide to help ensure a safe, fun, neighborhood-friendly event. This guide was developed by the University of Central Missouri Student Government Association, Greeks Advocating Mature Management of Alcohol, the Office of Violence and Substance Abuse Prevention, and the Campus Alcohol Board for use by all members of the local community who are considering hosting an event with alcohol.
A coalition of leaders from Whiteman Air Force Base, UCM, and the cities of Warrensburg and Knob Noster are working together to implement the Community of Culture of Responsible Choices effort. It is designed to promote safe and legal use of alcohol and a healthier overall community. Individuals who are interested in learning more about these efforts are encouraged to contact Jeff Huffman, Department of Justice grant local program coordinator, at 660-543-8067 or email@example.com.
