Students Take Second Place at Sales Competition Hosted by KU

Following up its first place finish the past two years, the University of Central Missouri sales team in the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies was edged out by the University of Georgia and took second place in the 2024 King’s Hawaiian Sales Competition. This competitive event was hosted by the University of Kansas School of Business April 5-6.

UCM Harmon College, Central Bank Jointly Create New Extended Internship

Before students graduate from the University of Central Missouri, one of the most cherished learning opportunities comes through internships that provide valuable hands-on experience and insight into their prospective careers. While these opportunities typically last one semester, Central Bank and the UCM Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies are taking this experience one step further through a new extended, paid internship that is two semesters long, and begins this fall.

Massachusetts Educator Soon to Begin Duties as Harmon College Dean

Selected through a national search, Mark Suazo, Ph.D., a longtime college educator whose professional path also has included working as an engineer and as program manager for multimillion dollar projects, will put his experience to work as the new dean of the University of Central Missouri’s Adrian and Margaret Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies. He begins his service to UCM on July 11.

In the 21 years she has served the University of Central Missouri, Jo Lynne Koehn, Ph.D., has developed a reputation as an outstanding mentor and colleague to faculty members in the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies with a passion for teaching that contributed to hundreds successful graduates. Such qualities haves contributed to her selection as recipient of the 2016 Byler Distinguished Faculty Award, the top honor presented annually to a UCM faculty member.
