Tiffany Meador Lindley
Lindley is the daughter of Marc and Robin Meador and daughter-in-law of Shaun and Beryl Lindley, all of Warrensburg. She graduated from UCM in 2003 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Commercial Art and Graphic Design. Her higher education also includes a year of study at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. Her rapidly growing professional career has taken her to jobs in Chicago and New York, and most recently to the Walt Disney Studios in Glendale, Calif., where she serves as the senior designer for DPW’s 35-member digital media team. She has helped to create products used in applications for iPhones, iPads and digital books produced by DPW.
Venturing into a new area of digital entertainment, Lindley art directs, storyboards and designs user experiences for many of DPW’s apps and interactive e-books. Her team incorporates story with animation, games, drawing and movie footage to showcase many of Disney’s treasured characters. They are incorporated into Disney Consumer Products Apps such as the Minnie Bow Maker from “Brave: Storybook Deluxe” and “Aristocats: Disney Classics,” all available on iTunes.
A job with Disney has been a dream come true for Lindley, who was 15 years old when she sought the company’s career advice.
“I sent a portfolio and they actually responded to me, and told me what to study in college and encouraged me to continue pursuing my dream,” she said. Taking that correspondence to heart, Lindley pursued her UCM degree while studying under influential faculty members such as Neva Wood, Clint Orr and the late John Lynch. She said they not only challenged her to do her best but helped her discover and hone her talents in design.
Lindley has served at her current position since August 2011. Prior to that, she worked as an interactive designer for DPW in White Plains, N.Y, and served from September 2009 to October 2010 as content producer and designer for Disney Digital Books in Glendale, Calif. There, she assisted with automation and quality control of assets, in addition to having responsibilities such as design, audio editing and research for Disney Digital Books Read-Along stories.
Before she began working for Disney, Lindley was involved in the print production of marketing materials, including packaging, brochures and point-of-purchase displays for Garmin International in Olathe, Kan., where she served as print production coordinator for nearly two years.
The UCM alumna’s husband, Shane Lindley, is senior producer on the Disney digital team. They reside in Santa Clarita, Calif., with their four cats. Lindley comes from a family of UCM graduates with her mother, Robin Meador, earning a master’s degree in elementary counseling, and brother, Chad Meador, a bachelor’s degree in automotive technology.
The Outstanding Recent Alumni Award recognizes alumni whose endeavors in business, professional, civic, philanthropic organizations, performing arts, public service, volunteer, political or similar activities are worthy of recognition and have brought honor to the university. To be considered for the award, an individual must have graduated from UCM within the last 10 years.
