WARRENSBURG, MO (Nov. 6, 2013) – The University of Central Missouri Department of Music will host a concert by pianist Logan Skelton at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in Hart Recital Hall.

The program will feature works by Hungarian composer Bela Bartok, as well as a variation set composed by Skelton. The event is free and open to the public.
Skelton received degrees from Manhattan School of Music, Eastman School of Music and Loyola University. He is a pianist, teacher and composer whose work has received international critical acclaim. He has performed widely in the United States, Europe and Asia and has been featured on public radio and television broadcasts, including NPR's "Audiophile Audition," "Performance Today," "All Things Considered," and "Morning Edition," as well as on radio in China and national television in Romania.
Skelton is a frequent guest pianist at such prestigious music festivals and events as Gina Bachauer, Eastman,Tunghai,MTNA National Convention, Chautauqua Institution, American Romanian, Eastern, New Orleans, Poland International, Indiana University, Hilton Head Island, and the Prague International Piano Masterclasses. He is a frequent juror for international piano competitions.
In addition to the recital, Skelton will present a lecture on "Reading the Score: Understanding Meaning Behind Notation" at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, and conduct a masterclass from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, in Hart Recital Hall, for UCM students from the departments of Music and Theatre and Dance.
