Performing Arts Series Presents L.A. Radio Theatre

WARRENSBURG, MO (Sept. 21, 2009) – The magic of the bygone era of radio theatre comes to life on UCM’s Hendricks Hall stage as the UCM Performing Arts Series presents the L.A. Theatre Works productions of War of the Worlds and The Lost World.
Two Performances Planned
An evening performance is planned for 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28. A matinee school group performance is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Stage and Screen Actors to Perform
America’s premiere radio theatre company will bring actors from stage and screen to campus to re-enact Orson Welles’ legendary radio drama, originally broadcast live in 1938 on the Mercury Radio Theatre of the Air. Following a brief intermission, the group also will perform a recreation of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle radio thriller, adapted by John de Lancie and Nat Segaloff.
The cast for the productions includes television actors Tom Virtue from Star Trek Voyager and Seventh Heaven; Josh Clark from Heroes, Star Trek Voyager, E.R. and LA Law; Kyle Colerider-Krugh from Third Rock from the Sun and E.R.; and stage actors Kenneth Alan Jennings, Peter McDonald, Diane Adair and Kate Steele.
Audience Interaction Follows Performance
Following the two productions, the performers will be available for questions and answers and interaction with the audience.
