WARRENSBURG, MO (Dec. 9, 2010) – The University of Central Missouri’s Performing Arts Series brings Mooseltoe, the moose with a dream, and his friends to life in the whimsical holiday tale, “Mooseltoe: A New Moosical,” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, in Hendricks Hall.
The story follows Mooseltoe as he pursues the seemingly impossible dream of discovering the secret of flight. He meets many interesting characters on his journey as he learns many of the lessons that are important to all us. Performed by the New York touring company, this sparkling new production introduces 17 unforgettable costumed characters to the audience, including three snobby penguins, a wise snowman and a walrus named Willy, not to mention Santa Claus and his two elves.
A set designed by New York designer Kelly Tighe evokes the enchanting and magical world inhabited by Mooseltoe and his friends. Award-winning Broadway costume designers Randy Carfagno and Vito Leanza have created larger-than-life costumes for “Mooseltoe.” With nine original and melodic songs by George Kramer, narration by Al Roker and character voices by Broadway celebrities, children and adults alike will embrace and cheer for the lovable hero, Mooseltoe.
