Department of Theatre, PAS Bring Children's Play to Highlander Theatre

WARRENSBURG, MO (Sept. 14, 2009) - Tickets remain available for UCM's annual children's play, produced and directed by the UCM Department of Theatre in cooperation with the Performing Arts Series.
Morgan and the Falcon Prince, written by Jim Anderson and B.J. Hursh, is an original play that was named the winner of the 2009 Theatre for Young Audiences National Playwriting competition. Once upon a time in a fairy-tale land, the Ruler of the Council of Wizards has turned the young prince into a falcon in order to take control of the kingdom. It is up to Morgan, a young female member of the Royal Academy of Magic, and the comic gardener Gasper, to discover the powers within themselves to save the young prince from Ravano an ancient evil monster.
School matinee performances are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 and Friday, Sept. 18. General public performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, with a matinee performance at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19. All performances of the children’s play are in UCM’s Highlander Theatre.
