Ribbon Cutting Planned for Morrow Garrison and Student Rec Center

WARRENSBURG, MO (April 25, 2011) – University of Central Missouri will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Student Recreation and Wellness Center and the renovated Morrow-Garrison complex at 11 a.m. Friday, April 29.
UCM President Charles Ambrose will be joined by Walt Hicklin, president of the UCM Board of Governors; Darren Doherty, student member of the UCM Board of Governors; and campus, local and state leaders in the ceremony at the west entrance of the facility. Music will be provided by the UCM Jazz Ensemble and refreshments will be served.
The public is invited to attend, and tours of the new facility will be available.
The 69,000 square foot Student Recreation Center was completed in January 2011 and opened to students with the beginning of the spring semester 2011. The adjacent Morrow and Garrison gymnasiums and the North Morrow Hall were renovated at the same time to create 130,000 square feet of instructional facilities, laboratories and faculty office space.
