Contact: Jeff Murphy
WARRENSBURG, MO (Sept. 6, 2013) – Missourians who lost their lives during military service since September 2011 will be honored in a ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, introducing the University of Central Missouri community an opportunity to view the “Remembering Our Fallen” traveling display. The exhibit will be available through Sept. 15 at the atrium of the UCM Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
“Remembering Our Fallen” is a wall of photos and testimonies that was created to honor individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice in wars fought since Sept. 11, 2001. Its legacy will be that these men and women will never be forgotten and that their names will be remembered and spoken. Bellevue University in Bellevue, Neb., became the educational sponsor for the "Remembering Our Fallen" tour in March 2011.
The “Remembering Our Fallen” ceremony will include remarks by UCM President Charles Ambrose, and all students, faculty, staff and members of the community are encouraged to attend. The event is being sponsored by the UCM Student Veterans Organization, UCM College Republicans, and the Office of Military and Veteran Services.
Individuals who want to know more about the ceremony should contact Delilah Nichols, coordinator of Military and Veteran Services, at 660-543-8776.
