Keli Myracle, an international business major from Lansing, Kan., and Michael Nash, a marketing major from St. Charles, earned the recognition, competing against teams from 10 schools from across the county. Myracle and Nash will share the $3,000 Gold Award in addition to an individual award of $1,000 each from State Farm for being selected as a UCM team member.

The annual competition is hosted by the UCM Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies in cooperation with State Farm. Ginger Killian, assistant professor of marketing, is adviser for the team.

The Marketing Presentation category of the competition showcases student creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and presentation skills. The year’s presentation focused on creating strategies for marketing a benefits association program State Farm currently is offering to its customers and local merchants.

The student teams also participated in the categories of Sales Role Play and Customer Service Role Play. The team with the highest combined score in all three categories received the Team Award, which was awarded this year to Arizona State University.

Teams participating in the completion included Arizona State University, Duquesne University, University of Georgia, University of Houston, Middle Tennessee State University, University of Minnesota, University of Missouri, University of Oregon, Texas State University and Western Michigan University.
