WARRENSBURG, MO (Oct. 23, 2013) – The University of Central Missouri is the setting for two special activities Monday, Nov. 11 in honor of individuals who have fought for their country. Women who served in the United States military will be honored during a joint ceremony, “Honoring Our Women Veterans,” planned for
11 a.m. in the Multipurpose Building. Also planned the same day is the second annual Military Appreciation Blood Drive, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Elliott Student Union, Rooms 238 and 240.
The ceremony in the Multipurpose Building is open to everyone, and will feature remarks by Lt. Col. Beth L. Makros, commander of the 394th Combat Training Squadron at Whiteman Air Force Base. Area women veterans who were involved in any branch of military service have been invited to attend and will be given special recognition during the event. Women veterans should pre-register for the event by sending an email with name, branch of service and number of years served to firstname.lastname@example.org.
