University Closing Information

 

UCM Warrensburg and Lee’s Summit Campuses Will Close Monday, Jan. 22

All University of Central Missouri classes at the Warrensburg and Lee's Summit campuses are canceled Monday, Jan. 22 due to forecasted weather conditions.  All offices are closed at both locations, and only essential personnel should report to work. University crews will be clearing parking lots and walkways, although many county roads and local streets may be slick. Online classes are not included in this closure. Students taking in-person classes should check Blackboard for updates from faculty members regarding alternative requirements. 

During this closure, some operation hours are adjusted, which are listed below. Unless a time is specified, assume a venue is closed:

• The Foster Knox Childcare Center will be closed.
• The Elliott Student Union will be closed.
• The Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be open from 10 a.m  to 7 p.m.
• The JCK Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• The University Store will be closed.
• Ellis Dining Hall will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
• Todd Dining Hall will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
• Both Einstein Bros. locations, Starbucks at The Crossing and all Elliott Student Union retail dining locations will be closed.
• SPIN! Pizza will be open regular business hours.
• Traditions will be closed.

The university is continuing to monitor the weather through the National Weather Service, and we will continue to keep you updated if there are changes that may affect future university operations. We encourage our UCM community to exercise caution given the predicted weather conditions and implement necessary safeguards.
