Off Campus Support for Becoming Tobacco Free

Blue Cross Blue Shield offers multiple resources to assist with ending tobacco use. See if you qualify for Tobacco Cessation or other services including a quit hotline, a starter quit kit, or Quitting Tobacco Support Program offered through BCBS insurance.


National Cancer Institute (1-877-44U-QUIT)
The National Cancer Institute provides smoking cessation counselors to answer smoking-related questions in English or Spanish, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Calls are toll free within the United States.

NCI QuitPal
is a free smartphone app to support smokers working to become smoke-free. This interactive app is developed using proven quit strategies and tools to help change behavior and assist you with giving up smoking.

Kwit is an app that offers support for those in the process of ending tobacco use. This app uses a fun, gamelike approach that includes different levels app users can reach until they become the “Ultimate Kwitter.” It also provides encouragers such as how much money app users have saved, how many cigarettes have been resisted, 60 different achievements to unlock, and 40 different motivational cards.

QuitNet offers an online community to connect with smokers and ex-smokers on every part of the quit journey. They also offer a free app so you can stay connected and supported with ease.

Freedom from Smoking
offers online classes and support. It is also offered by the American Lung Cancer Association and cost ranges from $15.00 for a three month membership to $40 for a yearlong membership.

Kill the Can offers online support, quit plans, and quit trackers for individuals looking to reduce use or end use of chewing tobacco.
