Posted: 9/3/2013 - The University of Central Missouri will join in the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance in honor of those individuals who lost their lives in the 9/11 tragedy. The campus observance begins at noon Wednesday, September 11 at the quadrangle, and everyone who is interested is welcome. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place in Hendricks Hall. This year’s ceremony is being jointly coordinated by UCM’s Office of Military and Veteran Services, with Scott Ammon, assistant professor of Safety Sciences, and the university’s ROTC battalion. After a welcome by UCM President Charles Ambrose, keynote remarks will be presented by Brig. General Thomas A. Bussiere, commander of the 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base. Other participants include local firefighters and first responders. Please join us in this community event.
