UCM Athletics places third in D-II Learfield Sports Directors Cup standings
UCM Athletics has capped off a successful 2008-2009 school year by finishing third in the NCAA Division II "Learfield Sports Directors Cup" standings. Outman sidelined with elbow trouble
Former Mules pitcher Josh Outman will be sidelined indefinitely after undergoing elbow surgery on Tuesday, June 30th.

Yoder earns title in Alabama

Frizzell competes at USA Championships
Drew Frizzell, an NCAA-II national champion in two events this past season, competed on Saturday, June 27th, at the 2009 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Frizzell finished 18th in the Hammer Throw, an event he captured at the NCAA-II Outdoor Championships in San Angelo, Texas.
Former UCM standout Dan Raithel also took part in the Hammer, while another former All-American, Kristin Anderson competed in the finals of the 3000 Meter Steeplechase.
Cosby named pre-season All-American
Mules tight end DeMarco Cosby has received pre-season recognition by being named a first-team All-American by Consensus Draft Services. All-American Team
Cosby, a junior from Kansas City, Mo., had 623 yards receiving and five touchdowns last season and set a school record for yards by a tight end in a season. He was also a first-team All-MIAA and first-team all-region selection.
Mules basketball third nationally in home attendance
Mules basketball finished third in average home attendance for the 2008-2009 season, and helped the MIAA top the nation in average home attendance this past season.
The Mules averaged just under 3,000 fans per home game in 17 dates, with the crowd of 5,378 watching the Mules host Northwest Missouri State before a national TV audience on Saturday, Feb. 21st. The Mules saw home crowds of over 4,000 on four different dates, and topped 3,000 on three other home dates.
