Mules Baseball at MIAA Tournament
Mules baseball will open the 2008 MIAA Tournament on Friday with a first round match-up against the Griffons of Missouri Western. Jennies Softball eliminated at NCAA-II Regional
Jennies softball dropped both of their games Thursday at the NCAA-II North Central Regional in Emporia, Kan., making it a quick trip to the post-season tournament.
The Jennies fell 2-1 to Winona State in opening round play Thursday morning, slipping into the losers bracket where they faced conference rival Northwest Missouri State on Thursday night. UCM failed to score in the 11 inning affair and was eliminated with a 1-0 setback. Mules Golf second at NCAA Central Regional
Mules golf finished in second place at the NCAA-II Central Regional as play concluded Wednesday in Findlay, Ohio.
The Mules fashioned the best team score (291) of the final round as Stefan Ballage, Matt Miller, and Ty Needels all fired even par 72 over the final 18 holes. UCM finished 13 strokes behind team champion Washburn, and had a 10 stroke advantage over third place Missouri Western. UCM Track & Field finished with mixed results over the weekend at the 2008 MIAA Outdoor Championships in Maryville, Missouri. The Mules claimed their third consecutive men's outdoor championship, and their seventh in the last eight years, but the Jennies three-year hold on the women's outdoor title ended as they finished second to Missouri Southern.
